- The six institutions that are the focus of the case studies provide a description of quality processes within different types of Institutions of Higher Education. The processes have been described by an individual within each establishment who has, at some level, responsibility for quality initiatives. The cases are illustrative only and are not intended to represent what happens in all institutions of the types that are identified.

- The Wharton School was the first collegiate business school and, 125 years later, is still consistently ranked best in the world. The four year undergraduate programme starts with ‘Management 100’ – a leadership course through which three teachers transform 650 students into high-performing team players.
- Case study on formative evaluation on WebCT
- This study of formative evaluation of courses was conducted in semester 1 and 2, 2005/06 in the Business School, Oxford Brookes University. In the process the effectiveness and purpose of the anonymous response facility of WebCT was tested and assessed. Analysis of the views voiced by the participants suggest that lecturers attach greater importance to formal formative feedback than do the students themselves.
